A significant global water crisis is currently affecting the education of millions of children. Everyone benefits from good sanitation. But girls are among those who benefit the most. Girls often miss out on an education because they have to help with household tasks. An important reason girls drop out of school in developing countries - mainly in Africa and Asia - is due to a lack of sanitation facilities.
MyJal partners with the local community, elders of the community, government officials to provide children access to sustainable clean drinking water.
We have received multiple schools' requests and have identified 2 schools for the MyJal clean water project for 2021.
MyJal receives a request from the school officials, village elders and local officials.

To help those in need and work with local and global leaders to solve the pressing clean water crisis.
MyJal is the creation of Maanav Karamchandani. When Maanav was six years old, he shared a vision for providing clean drinking water across Asia and Africa. MyJal's projects are taking shape across India. More than 700 million Indians, or roughly two-thirds of the population, do not have adequate sanitation. Due to a lack of clean water, 1.2 million children under the age of 5 die each year in India. As per the World Health Organization, every day, 6000 children die due to water-related diseases globally. MyJal is helping to solve this crisis by providing clean drinking water to those in need.
MyJal (MyWater), founded in 2009, is composed of school kids, engineers, environmentalists, sustainability experts, program managers, and financial experts. We have contacts with international corporations and funders who want to support sustainability, sanitation & education in the developing world.
At MyJal, we believe in the statement that extraordinary things will happen when you provide resources to those in need.
